Catch a glimpse of cutting-edge symbolic modelling technology at Taros Industry Day

Tag: UncategorizedSurak @ 3:35 pm

Symbolic modelling of systems is a new and evolutionary technology that is fast growing and offers a future perspective in handling mathematical complexity of engineered systems.

The idea is that symbolics or computational algebra can be leveraged to extract and manipulate mathematical expressions which are time consuming if not improbable to do by hand. Typical features include:

  • symbolic differentiation
  • trigonometric simplification
  • analytical solving
  • index reduction
  • linearisation
  • and more…

You can come and gain an introduction to this technology at the TAROS Industry Day, tomorrow at the Bristol Robotics Lab. We will demonstrate in a few minutes how you can automatically generate symbolic expressions from your system schematic, such as dynamic equations, mass matrices, symbolic jacobians and constraint equations.

The mathematically optimised model can then be exported to royalty free C-code for embedded/real-time implementation on open architecture robotics platforms. This enhances the research platform’s capabilities and workflow.

This is cutting-edge technology at the forefront of engineering system design, so don’t miss out on the chance to see it in action. See you there!
